Green Infrastructure and LID
Introduction to Green Infrastructure & Low Impact Development
The Colorado Stormwater Center provides training on planning, design, evaluation, construction and maintenance of green infrastructure (GI) and low impact development (LID) practices. The use of GI/LID practices is growing exponentially throughout the U.S. and represents a new paradigm of stormwater management. This training will introduce stormwater professionals to GI and LID.
Who Should Attend: Government (city/county/school) stormwater personnel, MS4 managers/coordinators, stormwater engineers, construction contractors, landscape contractors, SCM inspectors, property managers, homeowner’s association managers, etc.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests must be made in writing and received by the Center no later than seven (7) days before the date of the training in order to receive a refund (less a $30 cancellation fee). No refunds will be issued after this date.
**The Center reserves the right to cancel the course no fewer than 7 days in advance if the minimum number of workshop participants has not been reached.

Green Infrastructure Overview
In Colorado, like much of the West, communities must be prepared for climate extremes on both sides of the spectrum – from drought to flooding. Localized Green Infrastructure (GI) strategies are climate resilient water management solutions that can help manage stormwater runoff while providing a host of additional benefits including increased access to green space, reduced heat island effect, improved improved water quality, increased habitat for pollinators and wildlife and groundwater recharge. Thank you to CDPHE and Northern Water for sponsoring this training.
